comment : I really enjoy your site. Mainly because of this outstandling love I have for the 1961 Continental including the convertible. You see, my friend's dad owned a hardtop, and my uncle leased a convertible, which stole my heart and my dad's too.
Naturally, the Web has allowed me to exercise my appreciation of this year model. I'm sure you understand my attraction.. I must say, I have an affinity for Lincolns, and less so for Caddies, because I knew some adults at that time who owned new Licolns, and I knew a good thing when I saw it, even though I was only 11 or 12. But then, my folks usually owned a Ford product, including a '55 Ford two-door (model: I'm not sure) and a '56 Mercury station wagon with wood siding. And before tyhat, various Mercury station wagons starting around 1950. And let's not forget the time my uncle showed one day driving a '55 or '56 T-Bird, black with portholes. Obviously, my Ford history started early. I haven't been a huge Ford fan, per se, since then though. I loved the original Mustang and two subsequent years. After that, I fell in love with European cars, and much later Japanese designs, mainly for practical reasons. (I do have to get to work, after all.)
But I'm really glad people like you can celebrate the Lincoln of the early '60s. Nothing since has ever come close. And now, so I hear, Ford is thinking of issuing a new Lincoln that smacks of the '61. I'd say it's a goods move: beauty endures.
Cheers, FRANK.

It is garaged always and goes to the grocery store a couple of times a week. My wife's mother originally purchased the car in the days of the gas shortage...thus the diesel. Not many diesels left anymore! And speaking of nostalgia, in the early 60's I used to occasionally ride to church in a gold 1957? Eldorado that had been given to my Sunday School teacher by none other than Elvis Presley. As a kid it didn't mean much to me at the time...but much more so now. The car's owner, Ed Parker, was Elvis's bodyguard and karate teacher...no kidding!

People don't let them fool you in saying your 4.1 liter is not rebuildable because it is. Or if you wanna do like me and have a 350 put in. It really makes me mad because they are beautiful cars. With the new engine and the good condition it was in I was able to sell it for $12,000. So they really increase in value after you engine swap them. And wait untill you hear the difference and feel the power of the 350 it is really a good Powerplant for this car.

I'm a Cadillac fan since I was a 4-year boy (1964), and in that time, in my city (Chihuahua is located 375 kilometres south of the border of the US), there were many of them. Sadly, the majority went to the junkyard and is not common now see any of those wonderful land yachts cruising the streets. Too sad. By the way, I'm working in a newspaper, in Newsroom, and we have a web-page dedicated to the world of the automobile. Is a modest job, but we would like to see it grow. Do you think is it possible that we could use some of the info you have in your site? Of course, if you would agree, we would be giving due credit and all to you, because it would be very nice to add a celebration site for the 100th birthday of Cadillac. This request is personal, I haven't told any of the guys in charge of the web-page of this about your site. If possible, great! If not, thank you anyway for let us enjoy such a good page. Regards.

I had just about fixed everything on the car that needed to be fixed....still needed to fix the gas gag. and a small AC problem. When setting in the sun the AC wouldn't come on until you drove the car about 10 miles, stop and turn off the engine. Wait 5-10 min';s...AC came on...cooled real good. Changed it over to R134a. If I could find a good HT4100 V8 engine low miles cheap, I'd put it in and drive the car...drives very nice. I put a lot of new parts in that car just before the engine locked. Had a heating problem...fixed it.

On your Lincoln limousine page you label the Kennedy assassination limo as Governor Connolly's limo. It was in fact the US Presidential Limousine and belonged to the US Government, not to Governor Connolly. Perhaps you did not mean this.
